Kavutskiy vs Sachdev | I'm Not a GM Speed Chess Championship

IM Not A GM is back with a sequel, and it will feature some of the most famous non-GM players in the chess community. Today's matchup...Kavutskiy vs Sachdev!
The format is similar to that of the Speed Chess Championship, except for the addition of a halftime break and slightly less time allotted for each segment. The participants will play 75 minutes of 5+1 blitz, 45 minutes of 3+1 blitz, and 25 minutes of 1+1 bullet chess in each match, with breaks scheduled for the players halfway through both the five-minute and three-minute portions.

  • Tania was straight up outplayed. Brilliant game by Kostya.

  • As usual, one woman losing to a man in chess is used by the alt-right morons to say that men are superior to women and other bullshit like that. They apparently forgot that the second place of the last IM not GM tournament was a woman.

  • Why didn't Tania get the fifteen game handicap the other weak players received? She was clearly and thoroughly outclassed by a much stronger player.

    • Well in classical chess they're around the same strength and I think they're using that as the benchmark even though it's clear that Kostya is far superior in blitz

  • I dont get it why everyone is talking about gender in this game its simple that Brain has no gender. Skills and intelligence depends on human to human not on gender. Men and women both can be best in this game. Tania did not lost because of her gender, she lost because he played better and thats it. Gender have no role in it.

    swarooPswarooP3 ай мурун
    • @Akshay Reddy Baddam Yes I definitely agree! Women need to progress more into the very top levels, more girls should compete in tournament open divisions rather than just playing with girls (in order to reach their fullest potential), etc. Just meant that the atmosphere doesn't help facilitate this. Nice talk (:

      innakinnak2 ай мурун
    • @innak Yeah I get it...I was just saying that these people will continue and keep saying these things....irrespective of what happens ...No matter how much we say they will never listen ...So I think change has to come from women ...they should come out from the stereotype and start believing (like polgar, hou yifan)...they are equal ...they can’t just say we were affected by the stereotype r8...Anyways it was nice talking to you

Akshay Reddy BaddamAkshay Reddy Baddam2 ай мурун
    • @Akshay Reddy Baddam Yeah because there's the stereotype that women are worse at chess (as well as at math, engineering, etc etc), as evidenced by some of the comments on this video, as well as like you said, the fact that more men than women play chess and reach the top rankings. So a woman playing chess (or doing math, or studying engineering) is more likely to fall prey to those stereotypes and have her confidence damaged, thus failing to perform on the level of her male peers, creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. And re: your other comment, I'm not saying I don't understand why these things continue. I'm saying that it's inaccurate to blame a loss on gender when players are just human individuals. And again, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy when someone says, "men outnumber women in the top ranks of chess, therefore any woman is the weaker opponent/losing to a girl means you're bad at chess". Just because women, as a collective, haven't yet reached the level of men, as a collective, doesn't mean any individual women can't be just as good.

      innakinnak2 ай мурун
    • @innak Take the example of swimming or gymnastics...here no one will say women are bad at it or women are weak opponents because they are equal or even better than men ....but in other sports it’s not happening And talking about online chess study u mentioned ...why do you think the girl started playing badly once the gender is revealed ...do girls psychologically feel that men are better...(in a chess game where no physical stuff is involved )...

Akshay Reddy BaddamAkshay Reddy Baddam2 ай мурун
    • @innak But I have seen people mocking men too by saying if u can’t defeat a women then you are bad at chess...and you start giving up stuff(but not the level of women stuff).....I think why women are considered by default a weak opponent ...because they have not reach the same level as men or not giving tough competition in the sport ...According to the society the equality is reached when both are at the same level...that’s why these all things continue

Akshay Reddy BaddamAkshay Reddy Baddam2 ай мурун

The picture of equality between sexes is contradicted by reality on every real situation when is put to a test. Watch Terminator Dark Faith or the Disney version of Star Wars for how the history is rewritten in our lifetime even for fiction stories by these dogmatic equalitarians ...

    • @Dent I bet you think you nailed it on the head... I already can see how you, a doctrinaire according to her doctrine, imagine a dirty old man grandmaster would harass, or even more assault, someone over the board playing chess into the same room with tens or hundreds of people around in close proximity. Your idea made me laugh so hard because it is so unrealistic and everyone that participated or watched a chess tournament know it is impossible. Or maybe you suggest that someone playing with a captured bishop is involved in a sexual assault?... Please stop scaring girls who want to play chess Chess is a very safe environment.

      socrateadsocratead2 ай мурун
    • there are women chess players that talk about being sexually assaulted as young girls by older male players and not wanting to encourage other girls to play because of it, but that has nothing to do with it according to big brain socratead
